WHAT CHARACTERISTICS DOES YOUR SS-2015 COLLECTION HAVE FROM AN INSPIRATION VIEWPOINT?
Our passion for sportswear and workwear of the past century is our main source of inspiration. The SS-2015 collection is defined by a basic style, by the grey melange fabric (typical of the American sport garments) and by shirts and work wear pieces made of chambray fabrics and selvedge canvas. We imagined we were dressing American soldiers during training, with sports grey sweater with ribbed hem and cover seam details in ’60s style, with a chambray 7 oz. work-shirt similar to the ones Empire State Bulding’s carpenters wore, or a deconstructed work-blazer in 11,5 oz. canvas as workshop assistants from the ’50s. This is our cultural background, our style; a garment treatment to get a lived-in look, a t-shirt with a 1929 Riley’s tachometer or with the 1935 International Six Days Enduro Trial Race winners.WHAT KIND OF CLOTHES DID YOU USE AND WHAT STYLISTIC CHOICES DID YOU ADOPT REGARDING FITS?
To the athletic grey fabric, already a key point for our continual sportswear project, we’ve paired an indigo yarn-dyed crewneck sweater and a bomber, plus an ecru slub jersey t-shirt. Blazers, trench coats and shirts have been presented with a 7 oz. indigo, grey and brown selvedge chambray. The fit of tees, sweaters and shirts is basically very skinny, while blazers and trenches – as derived from work wear pieces – got wider and more comfortable shapes.WHAT ARE THE PIECES YOU MOSTLY TRUST IN? IN OTHER WORDS, WHAT DO YOU EXPECT THIS COLLECTION’S BEST-SELLING ITEMS TO BE?
For sure the SS-2015 collection’s best-sellers are going to be the indigo selvedge canvas blazer, the athletic grey t-shirt with chambray round pocket and the indigo fleece bomber.
