ENDRIME STUDIO – TWIN NEEDLE UNION SPECIAL 11900

This post is also available in: Ita

Inside the ENDRIME studio, given the tailored workings the denim professional (and professor) Mohsin Sajid gives his every production, you can find several sewing machines with more than a 80-years history – just like the 1930’s Union Special 11900 double needle.

The Union Special 11900 is a twin needle machine that can be used for a range of jobs. The flat lock stitch could be used for belt loops, yokes, seams – practically anything. Plus it looks super cool! This model is from the 1930s and it’s rare as it has 3/16″ spacing – most new machines have 1/4″ or 5/16″ spacing – you only find 3/16” on vintage styles; so when I wanted to create my belt loops I wanted to make sure it was only 3/16″ spacing.
